There are always worse things you could do.

Hello. I'm Walter. I like to write about the things I've done and the pretty girls I've seen. Or is it the other way around.

Ugh. The bible has a lot of hypocrisy and I don’t recommend you follow it literally, but this is just plain ignorant. I suppose they are funny if you have no concept of judeo-christian religion. I’m all for exposing contradictions and downright stupid things in the bible- but this is such a retarded way of doing it.

  1. Yes, creating a human from dust is so mundane. Take no solace in knowing that all humans are created from the same matter and material- ignore the metaphorical connotations. Instead, realize that it is only dust- that’s what God said so that’s what he means. Classic fundamentalist attitude.
  2. I suppose this is only funny to those who believe that God has found a thwart the trilema. Rather than posting a stupid meme, I suggest you take a bit to think about the logical implications of one attempting to be all omnipotent, all benevolent, and all powerful.
  3. Certain translations and various texts distinguish the between the types murder one can partake in. There is preemptive murder versus spontaneous, there are righteous kills versus unrighteous kills. To say this is an overwhelming generalization.
  4. Most intellectual theologians, at least the ones who aren’t evangelical nut bars, believe that free-will exists parallel to God.
  5. Jesus was conceived to a virgin. Also, the bible doesn’t specifically ban pre-marital sex given that there was such a loose understanding of marriage and it’s implementation was sporadic at best.
  6. Again, the idea that God is a good guy who makes sure nothing bad happens is juvenile and horribly uneducated.
  7. This one makes sense. The expectation for exaltation does seem a bit vain.
  8. Again, like so many before, the kind of person who this resonates with (or offends) is the kind of person who believes in God because it makes them feel better.
